Alexandria, MN: Bob Beliveau's Float Fly on Lake Darling, is to be held on Saturday, June 28th. Wives and kids are also welcome to attend. Flying will start at 10am and the day will conclude with an evening meal. You are welcome to bring along a dessert to share if you wish. Please let Bob know at least one week in advance, if you plan to attend, so that he can plan accordingly with regards to how much food to prepare. Email RSVP
Bemidji, MN: 28-29, June 2008. Host-North Country Model Controllers. This is the one you've been waiting for! "Collective Madness" Heli only fun fly! A one time landing fee for the event is $12.00 dollars. Noon lunch will be available. Also, a 50/50 raffle. You must be a current AMA member in good standing to fly. Primitive camping only, (no hookups), but we have a LOT of camping space for tents, campers and RV's. Arrive a day or two ahead of time if you like. RSVP is requested so we have an idea how many heli pilots will be attending. Signs for the event will be posted. Grand Rapids, MN: 28 June, 2008. The Itasca R/C Club will be hosting their annual Fun Fly again this year. No contests, no competition, no pressure. Just a fun day in the sun. Lunch prepared by the club member wives is included in your $8.00 landing fee. How can you beat that! No rain date. We fly rain or shine. There will also be a raffle for an airplane kit. Fargo, ND: 12-13 July 2008. Valley Big Dogs IMAA Fun Fly. Located one mile east of Kragness, MN. Grass runway about 300'x800' with six flight stations, no channel 20. Limited camping, no hookups. Pilots landing fee is $10.00 with registration at 8 AM and flying from 9 AM till dusk. Concessions and noon meal available. Fun Fly and some Fun contests. Rainy River, CAN: 19-20 July 2008. The Rainy River Internationals will be holding their annual Fun Fly--Fish Fry.
There is dry camping at the field weather permitting. Pilots are welcome to show up early if you wish.

Bemidji, MN: 25-27, July 2008. The newest Bemidji Club #4785 will be hosting a Float Fly at Garfield Lake in Laporte N47 degrees 14.64 W94 degrees 44.975. Camping available $5.00 for property owner dry damping, $10.00 landing fee includes lunch. Lunch also available for $5.00

Gimli, Canada: 15, 16, 17 August 2008. Model Fest (GMF) is excited to bring the first of many announcements on our big 5th anniversary 2008 GMF celebration. EARLY BIRD PRIZE DRAW

Also on the fall news page, are photos of the ground crew enhancing the flying field by spreading new soil and seeding the model field which will improve the flying surface.
Minot, ND: 23-24, August 2008. The Minot Aircraft Modelers will again host "The International" - a weekend of open flying & RC Aviation Fellowship for the whole Family. The International happens at our beautiful 15 acre flying site featuring two 600' smooth grass runways, Indoor overnight Model storage with electricity for charging, RV electrical hookups, on site RV Dump and there's even wireless internet. The Weekend starts with a pot-luck supper Friday evening, Breakfast Saturday morning followed by a day of open flying, the Minot Aircraft Modelers are known for their Saturday evening Banquet quality meal, Breakfest Sunday Morning and more open flying. Park Rapids, MN: 23-24, August 2008. Headwater's Radio Control Flying Club 9th Annual Event running 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day. Skill competitions and combat scheduled. Directions to Flying Field: West of Park Rapids on Hwy. 34 approx, 4 miles to Mile Marker 71, turn south and go 1.5 miles. Signs posted for the event.
Bemidji, MN. Sept. 5-7, 2008. Host-North Country Model Controllers. NCMC will be host their annual Fall Fun Fly. A one time landing fee for the entire event is $12.00 dollars. Noon lunch will be served. The landing fee includes a dinner on Saturday night and entry into a pilot's raffle. In the regular raffle one of the prizes will be a Spektrum DX6i 6 channel radio!! You must be a current AMA member in good standing to fly. (Don't forget your AMA card) There will be evening camp fires and the locally famous "fry shack" will provide free campfire treats. Primitive camping is available, (no hookups), but LOTS of room for tents, campers, and RV's. Flyers have arrived as early as Tues., so come early if you desire. All planes and heli's are welcome!

Turn west at the next gravel road and drive to field entrance, about 200 yards on your right. Grand Rapids, MN: 6-7 September, 2008. The Itasca R/C Club second annual Float Fly will be held at the Hill City public beach on Hill Lake again this year. Tons of convenient free parking with a small fee charged by the city for those wanting overnight camping with hookups in their wooded site right on the shore. Showers and toilet facilities. Last year was a roaring success in spite of the rather strong winds. Your $10.00 landing fee covers both days and a catered lunch on each day. For more info write: Email
